Love Spell to Command Affection from Someone

This is a spell of my own invention and is to be found in my book of return lover spells. The pattern of the scotch tape is important, as intersecting lines are important in hoodoo -- it's magic that favors 'in betweens' as one person put it, the theory that these are no-man's lands making them more powerful.

You need:
Bend Over oil
Come to Me oil
photograph of target
pink pen
scotch tape

On the appropriate day of the week for influencing their sign, take the photograph of your target, and with the pink pen write their name 7 times on the back, and their zodiac symbol. On the front, over the face of the picture, sign your signature 7 times. Then, using a 50/50 mix of Bend Over and Come to Me oils, dot each corner of the photo while commanding the person. Finally, take the photo and set it someplace where it will "see" you at night while you are in bed. Tape the photo to the wall or bedframe using 2 long strips of tape, one laid along the center of the photo and one across the center of the photo to make a cross shape.

Mojo Bag Love Spell

Cinnamon is an ingredient used for love drawing in several magical spell casting traditions. It's said to be a favorite herb to the love goddess Ochun, and sometimes is classes as a Venus rules herb. Copper is also attributed to Venus, hence its inclusion in the spell. NOTE: I would choose a penny from the birth year of the person one seeks to draw, if a particular person is in mind.

Items needed:
Red pouch
Copper Penny
Cinnamon sticks, broken into bits (you will need approx. a spoonful)
Red votive candle
Dish to burn candle on
Pin or bent paperclip for writing on candle

When to perform: To draw the love of a man, perform on a sunny day when the sun is still rising in the sky (before noon). To draw the love of a woman, perform at night during the waxing moon.

First, set up your working space. You can use flowers associated with love, anything heart-shaped, copper trinkets, etc. For small spells such as this, I use thin red tape (red is the color of love as well as energy) and tape the shape of the five-pointed star upon the white counter-top. In the centre of the star, the belly, is where I put my candle and whatever else is directly involved in the spell.

When your space is set up, take the red votive and, using a pin or bent paperclip, begin writing on the candle what you are seeking. Be as precise as possible and list attributes of your potential mate (honesty, good sense of humor, etc.). By doing this you are focusing on what you intend to draw towards you and instilling this into the candle.

Set the candle down in the center of your workspace and on top of the copper (metal of Venus) penny. Use a dish to burn the candle on, if necessary.

Light the candle while, at the same time, feeling a burst of love and need in your chest and gut.

While the candle is burning, it is sending out your intentions. During this time, break off about a spoonful of cinnamon. Use a small handsaw if necessary, but be very careful. If you are unable to get a hold of a cinnamon stick, you can use ground cinnamon and sew a spoonful of it into a small pouch. This is messy and not recommended but sometimes you need to make do with what you have at hand.

Place the cinnamon bits into the small red pouch.

As the candle burns and melt, take some of the run-off wax and form it into a small heart. Place this inside the pouch.

When the candle has finished burning, remove the penny from under the candle and place it inside the pouch.

Clean up your workspace.

Either place your love drawing pouch inside your undies drawer (no socks allowed unless you want your love to stink) or wear it/keep it on your person.

Magic Incense Spell to Bring Back Lost Lover

Dragon's blood -- which is a type of herbal resin, so called for its color -- is a traditional ingredient in hoodoo for returning a lost love. Sometimes just carrying a chunk of the resin was said to be adequate to perform the rite.

Magickally, dragon's blood draws former lovers back to one's arms. The resin is burned at night; under a full moon on a Friday while the forlorn and heartbroken person wishes their true love back into their arms.

This spell is listed on the Dragon's Blood Resin page at the website of Magus Books, where it credits herbalist liz Johnson as its original source.

Mandrake Conjure Bag Mojo for Love

This spell probably calls for American Mandrake rather than the famous European Mandrake from Shakespeare et al. It is also called Mayapple, and is a plant related to barberry. It is said that its roots grow in somewhat humanoid shape just like the European variety, but one rarely finds it sold as whole root.

The spell below assumes one knows the general instructions for fashioning a conjure bag, which are given elsewhere in the same book.

Into the bag, put:
A small piece of mandrake, charged for bringing love
1 piece rose quartz, charges for bringing love
Small piece of paper with this spell written in pink (for love) or black ink:

By the power of the spirits of love, I make this charm to attract love to me, to bring the perfect lover for me into my life, for the happiness of us both. This spell is done with harm to none.

This spell comes from Lilith McLelland's book, The Salem Witches Book of Love Spells.

Hoodoo Magic Spell for New Love

Wood aloes have been a popular incense in Europe and the Orient for ages. This spell is said to be of hoodoo origin, but its use of wood aloes indicates that it is either from European sources or a spell dating post-1915 or so, when more exotic ingredients began to be used in hoodoo practice.

An old and very simple hoodoo love spell calls for wood aloes to be burned on a night when the moon is full and shining brightly. If your will is strong and you have the utmost faith in your magick, a new lover will come into your life before the next new moon.

This magic spell comes from the book Herbal Magick by Gerina Dunwuch.
